Mentoring

Role and responsibilities of a mentor: 

1. Guidance & support to the students – Provide academic & personal guidance; help them to navigate their medical education and challenges. 
2. Monitoring progress- overall progress of the mentees. Advice on the areas that need improvement to meet their goals. 
3. Professional development- Assisting developing their professional identity, ethical values and skills , necessary for becoming competent medical professionals. 
4. Counseling – Offering emotional support to manage their stress and well-being. 
5. Role modeling- Mentors act as role model, demonstrating professional behavior, communication skills, commitment to lifelong learning. 
6. Carrier Guidance – Mentors provide advice on carrier pathway, residency options, specialization and helping students make informed decisions about their future in Ayurveda. 
7. Connector – The mentor acts as a bridge between students and the college administrators, & faculty.

Mentoring Cell

The Mentoring cell of Belly SankarpurRajib Gandhi Memorial Ayurvedic College& Hospital, W.B., functions under the guidance of the Principal and experienced and higher faculty coordinators with the primary objectives of enabling constructive interaction, guidance, mentorship and providing reliable and comprehensive support system for the students.

Mentoring is a unique method constituted with the objectives of supporting students to improve their learning and leadership skills, motivating them towards their future career development. With this in mind, the college has implemented a mentoring program in which faculty members receive mentoring training and meet with students on a daily basis to listen to their concerns and provide guidance on their general personality development.
